Avana 100mg, also referred to by its internal label BRAND072, is a prescription oral medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. The active ingredient in Avana is Avanafil, a second-generation phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor.

Uses

Avanafil enhances blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation, facilitating the achievement and maintenance of an erection. It does not increase sexual desire and is effective only with sexual arousal.

Dosage and Administration

Standard starting dose: 100 mg, taken orally approximately 15 to 30 minutes before sexual activity.
Maximum frequency: Once per day.
Adjustments:
- May be increased to 200 mg or decreased to 50 mg based on individual efficacy and tolerability.
Food intake: Can be taken with or without food.

Contraindications

Avoid using Avanafil if you:

Take nitrates (e.g., nitroglycerin) or riociguat (Adempas), due to the risk of severe hypotension.
Have experienced a heart attack, stroke, or life-threatening arrhythmia within the past 6 months.
Suffer from severe liver or kidney impairment.
Have a history of non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION).
Are allergic to avanafil or any of its components.

Nasal congestion
Back pain

Serious side effects (seek immediate medical attention):

Sudden vision or hearing loss
Erection lasting more than 4 hours (priapism)
Chest pain, dizziness, or nausea during sexual activity

Drug Interactions

Use caution when combining Avanafil with:

Alpha-blockers or other antihypertensives, as this may lead to symptomatic hypotension.
Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole, ritonavir), which can increase avanafil levels in the blood.
